Leaf Raking for the Elderly
The elderly are a valuable part of our community. They have a wealth of experience and knowledge to share, and they deserve to be treated with respect and dignity. Unfortunately, many elderly people are isolated and lonely. They may not have family or friends nearby, or they may be unable to get out and about as much as they used to.
That's why it's so important to volunteer with the elderly. There are many ways to get involved, from simply visiting them and talking to them to helping them with errands or chores. BHHF spent the 2023 Thanksgiving season raking leaves at the homes of the elderly in Darien, CT!
Many volunteers showed up to lend a helping hand as we cleaned up the leaves and helped make the holiday chores easy for the elderly. Thank you to all our volunteers for making this a rewarding experience for the team and to those we helped.
